A Teachers’ Training Workshop was held at CHILD Secretariat in Sentul on Saturday 5th September 2009. Preschool teachers from ten (10) kindergartens in Selangor managed by CHILD / PIBG and also teachers from eight (8) Preschools (Selangor State Government / CHILD) were invited to participate in this workshop. A total of thirty two (32) Preschool teachers participated in the program.
The training and interactive sessions comprised of Phonics conducted by Ms.Malini, CHILD Selangor Preschool Supervisor and Music & Movement conducted by Ms. Eveelyn, a Lecturer from Persatuan Tadika Malaysia (PTM) cum a secretary of Early Childhood Care and Development Education (ECCDE) Network. The Workshop was conducted successfully. The preschools teachers actively participated through group work presentation on Phonics and the teachers were singing and dancing with Ms. Eveelyn for music and movement. The program concluded with the presentation of Certificates to all participants by Dr. N. Iyngkaran, Programme Director, CHILD. The teachers were reminded by Dr.Iyngkaran of the key roles they play in the lives of the Preschool children. Teachers are the ‘Role Model’.
