Selangor Preschool Sports Day 2009

The Selangor Preschool Sports Day 2009 was held on 12^th April 2009 at SJK(T) Ladang West Country (Barat). A total of 279 students from 10 schools participated in the event officiated by YB Dato Marsom Paing (Adun Kawasan Dengkil) and YB Dr. Xavier Jeyakumar (Ahli Exco Kerajaan Selangor). Also present were CHILD’s Programme Director Dr. N Iyngkaran and Deputy Director Dr. P. Kunaletchumy, school officials and CHILD personnel.

Summary:

The MC welcomed everyone on behalf of CHILD and SJK(T) LDG West Country (Barat). Representatives from SJK(T) LDG West Country (Barat) then read the Irai Valzhu. This was followed by the Negaraku and the recital of the Rukun Negara.

A march past inspection was conducted by the Guest of Honour, YB Dato Marsom Paing (Adun Kawasan Dengkil) followed by a lively cheer leading dance was then performed by Tadika Kinrara. SJK(T) LDG West Country (Barat) Head Master,  Mr Arumugm  gave a welcome speech. He then invited YB Dato Marsom Paing to give his opening speech. Every student was given a chance to participate and prizes given to all ie 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prizes and consolation prizes to the rest. After each event the prizes were given out by the respective invited PIBG member or guest.

The parents were not forgotten as an interesting game was held for them ie finding the items written on a paper and the first person to find these items and give it to the judges would be the winner. Hampers were given out to the first three winners. Next were the teacher’s events whereby they were given papers with part of rhymes written on them. They then would have to match the rhymes and prizes were subsequently awarded to the first three winners.

At the closing ceremony, the preschool children again come forth to their respective places in front of the VIP stand via the march past. They performed charming cheer leading dance by Tadika Vallalar 2.

Dr Iyngkaran gave a poignant speech, motivating students, parents, teachers, PIBG members and guests. YB Dr Xavier Jeyakumar (Ahli Exco Kerajaan Selangor) was then invited to give his closing speech and to give out prizes to the parents and teachers events and also to the best 3 march pasts.

Everyone then had the pre-packed refreshments given to them.
