Kamakshi – CHILD Home
KAMAKSHI Association was founded by Madam Pushpavalli (Kamakshi Amma) in 1947. Kamakshi Association has since then been helping thousands of poor, underprivileged, handicapped children and their families. In the year 2005 Kamakshi Association and CHILD came together to address many of the pressing problems of the less privileged children in Northern Malaysia. The two organizations found synergy in each other and are managing the activities listed below.
KAMAKSHI CHILD works with children who are mentally and physically disabled, orphaned, abandoned or whose family is unable to take care of them. We give these children the opportunity to build a lasting relationship within a family. We help them shape their futures. We enable the children to live according to their own culture and religion and to be active members of their respective communities. We help children to recognize and express their individual abilities interests and talents in a caring, sharing and nurturing environment.
Objective
To rehabilitate the children who are socially, culturally, physically, mentally or emotionally handicapped to their maximum ability so that they can be self reliant and contribute to society in their own way in the following manner:-
1. To build families for the children in need.
2. To help them shape their own futures.
3. To share in the development of their communities:
